Dear client:
Thank you for ordering the following report. We trust that the information given here will help inform the decisions you make regarding the location of your new or existing business. Please be sure to read the disclaimer because it is provided both for our protection and for yours. It explains how this report should be used and how it should not be used. In brief, demography is important to the success of a business, but it is only one of many factors that must be taken into consideration.
You ordered a report based on county-wide data. This is the largest geographic unit for which we collect and analyze data. County-wide demographics are appropriate for most businesses, especially for those which can reasonably expect to draw their customers from an area that is larger than a single ZIP code. (We also offer ZIP code level reports.)
For your report we studied the demographic data for the following county and business type:
Las Animas County, CO
Furniture and general household furnishing
First we assembled data from 3143 counties in the United States. These data included hundreds of demographic variables plus volume-of-business measures for 48 businesses. For each of the businesses we ran a statistical procedure (Stepwise Multiple Regression) to identify those demographic variables that would best predict volume-of-business within a specific county. For the type of business you selected, we found that the variables listed on the next page of this report accounted for a very high percentage of the variance in annual household average volume-of-business.
These significant variables are listed in order of importance, from high to low, top to bottom. Typically the first two are several times more influential than the others.
